Magnetized Suits

BEHOLD! MAGNETS!

Stealth Suit

Crisis Suits

These marks are the magenetized points. you can sort of see them all on the center one. They all have those 6 points. 2 per arm, 2 per "back slant", 1 per "back top". then there are 2 per weapon and 1 per system (only multi-trackers atm). The Stealth Suit has 2 in his arm and 2 in each weapon. The burst cannon is actually slightly off so it doesn't sit quite right :(

So...now I don't have any excuses not to finish painting them all (though they do still need sanding on the green stuff)

  1. Man, I wish I had done that with my suits. It's so hard to know what's the best configuration when first starting out. Nice work, It'll come in handy as you play more games for sure!

  2. I've basically just been playing them without weapons for the past few weeks trying to figure it out, but I finally ordered the magnets and set to work. I'm really happy with the results.

  3. Good job with the magnets. I have done this with my first three crisis suits. http://ignatum.blogspot.com/2009/11/tofg-end-of-month-one.html

The next three that I have done this month were easier, having learnt my lesson from the previous batch.

I tend to find that using a rotacraft tool (poor mans dremel) to drill the holes then using a small flat headed nail to hold the magnet rather then my fingers made it far easier.

    Good luck with the blog!

  4. I actually have a small hand drill that has a bit the perfect size for the magnets. The ways I would love a dremel though...

In the end I ended up using a tiny bit of green stuff on the side of the magnet I wanted to go down, and my craft knife, magnet stuck on greenstuff up, to put them in there.

A nail actually sounds a bit better just because it would free up my knife (and I ended up getting a bit of super glue on the blade).

  5. AH! I just followed the link in your comment! I love your crisis suits! I've seen them before. Your army gave me confidence in my idea for a color scheme!
